Christmas Live
The Man They Call G will be part of Christmas Live!

Pantomime producer Ryan Holt is pulling out all the stops this Christmas with the announcement of a second seasonal show for audiences at Beccles Public Hall.

For two performances only, Christmas Live! will bring together four of East Anglia’s most talented acts for a socially-distanced festive variety show on Saturday, December 12.

The matinee and evening performances will include an eclectic mix of magic, west end pizazz and live vocals.

The line-up includes comedy vocal impressionist The Man They Call G, who is renowned across Norfolk and Suffolk for his expertise in impersonating household names.

His set will be jam-packed with not only comedic impressions like Billy Connolly and The Muppets, but also tributes to a wide range of well-known singing voices.

G, a former member of Norfolk variety act, the Brother Lees, is a regular on stage at Cromer Pier and has played the Dame in two consecutive pantomimes at St George’s Theatre in Great Yarmouth.

He has recently completed a run as the villain in Great Yarmouth’s Hippodrome Circus Halloween Spooktacular.

G began performing to crowds while studying theatre studies at college, but had always been interested in voices, having grown up watching his father do impressions.

He said: “Lots of impressionists use props, silly glasses or different hair to turn themselves into someone, but I have stayed away from that. I guess I have my own distinct look, which you could say is quite quirky.

“I wear really bright colours and have outrageous shoes – I have many characteristics that most impressionists would steer clear of, but perhaps it’s what makes my act unique.

“I’m really looking forward to the show. I like surprising people so there will be something in there that has never been seen before.

“This year has been very tough on the entertainment industry, so any performer who gets to perform live to an audience values it so much more now. If we can put a smile on someone’s face it is really appreciated from both sides.”

Christmas Live! will also feature singer Rebecca Jillings, who many may recognise as a regular pantomime cast member at Beccles Public Hall, West End vocalist Aaron Bolton and magician Joshua Pickering.

Inside the Snowglobe, also produced by Ryan, will be performed at the theatre between December 19 and 24.
