Two funeral homes have been chosen as venues for a photographic exhibition which is touring the country.

Rosedale Funeral Home’s branches in Attleborough and Beccles will host the Small Actions, Big Difference exhibition which has been commissioned by Dying Matters in the run up to this year’s awareness week in May, as part of its work to tackle the taboo subject of death and bereavement.

The images on show highlight how seemingly small deeds can make a powerful difference to the quality of life for people in their final days, and for those who care for them.

“We’re throwing open our doors, inviting everyone to drop in to see the exhibition,” explained Rosedale Funeral Administrator Mark Hall, who is based in Attleborough.

“This is the first of a number of events we’re planning to mark Dying Matters Awareness Week and hope that the arrival of this exhibition will begin to encourage people to talk about their end of life and funeral wishes.

“Ultimately everyone deserves a good death and fitting send off, and we feel it’s really important that people do speak about their wishes.”

The exhibition will be at Rosedale Funeral Home in Attleborough from Monday 8 April until Friday 12 April 2013, moving to Rosedale Funeral Home in Beccles from Monday 15 April until Friday 19 April 2013.

Everyone is welcome to drop in (9am – 5pm), when coffee and cake will be served.

Dying Matters is a coalition that includes organisations from across the NHS, voluntary and independent health and care sectors.  Dying Matters Awareness Week runs from Monday 13 – Sunday 19 May 2013.

An award-winning, family-run business, Rosedale Funeral Home is recognised for its community initiatives and support for the bereaved.

Further information about the exhibition is available by calling Rosedale Funeral Home on 01953 452538 (Attleborough) or 01502 714445 (Beccles).
