Manor House Farm roses

Roses the Star of the Show!

June heralds the start of summer. Thirteen glorious gardens will be opening for the National Garden Scheme in Norfolk.

The rose is Britain’s favourite flower; four of our gardens feature roses in abundance.  There are plenty of other features too.

On the Sunday 4th June Kettle Hill at Blakeney, NR25 7PN has a stunning rose garden along with walled gardens and views across Morston to the sea. A visit here and a stroll along the beautiful Norfolk coast makes for a great day out!

Manor House Farm at Wellingham, PE32 2TH opens on Sunday 18th June. Here you can walk through a rose tunnel full of the colour and fabulous perfume that only old-fashioned roses can deliver! This is just one of the fascinating features the garden has with an unusual Taj garden, vegetable parterre and even a herd of Formosan sika deer!

On Thursday 22nd June Mannington Hall, NR11 7BB has an evening opening. The delightful setting of a moated manor house will make this an evening to remember!

The Grange at Heydon, NR11 6RH is the place to go for colourful herbaceous borders and a brilliant display of climbing roses tumbling over the ancient brick walls of an 17th century gem. All set in the idyllic village of Heydon which is well worth a leisurely stroll.

All these gardens will serve home-made teas and several have plants for sale.

These are just a few of the gardens opening in June.
