Nanna-Lay

As President of the Rotary Club of Lowestoft East Point I set myself a personal challenge and at the same time raising money for a worthy :  The Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal (TRA). Our Club is a vibrant, progressive Club and it is both strong and healthy.  My motto for the year is “Live Better – Live Longer” and we have focused on health and health awareness, but we also have fun and laughter which is very important to good health. I will be the first Rotary President in the world to Hula Hoop with Fire for Charity in over 100 years.

I will be Hula Hooping with FIRE at The Hotel Victoria, Lowestoft during the Club Evening on 17th June 2014.

The chosen  Charity is Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. This appeal is a subject very close to my heart as I have four friends undergoing Cancer Treatments. £600,000 was required and now £212,000 is still needed to improve cancer services for local patients so that the NNUH can treat more cancer patients with a type of radiotherapy that reduces treatment times and also means patients can be treated closer to home. The money raised through the Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal (TRA) will be used to build dedicated facilities so a particular type of treatment called brachytherapy can be delivered. www.nnuh.nhs.uk
