Sarah takes the plunge for Felixstowe Library

22 year old Sarah Edwards is in training for a fundraising swim to help support Felixstowe Library.

Sarah has a disability called developmental amnesia which affects her memory.

“I am a keen supporter of Felixstowe Library. It’s an important part of my life as I am a great bookworm.  Not only does the library have great books, but my mum works there too!”

Sarah was originally preparing for the Great East Swim but when this was cancelled she decided to put her training to good use by taking part in a sponsored swim on Saturday 17 August at Fritton Lake near Lowestoft. She is aiming to swim one mile and has been training since April with the support of Corinna, her coach. Anyone wishing to sponsor Sarah can contact the library on 01394 694880.

Sarah also works at Potsford Care Farm near Wickham Market four days a week which is a social enterprise offering education and experience on a working farm.

Like all Suffolk Libraries, Felixstowe is now run by Suffolk Libraries which is an independent and charitable organisation which has been running the county’s library service for a year. All libraries are developing their own community groups and many local people are helping to raise additional funds to help support the development of their local library.
