Bury-library

A series of monthly interactive information events are being held at Bury St Edmunds Library.

On 12 October 2103 The Bury Society will be in the library foyer from 10am-1pm asking people to take part in a quiz about Bury St Edmunds with a prize on offer for the winner.

The Bury St Edmunds Society was formed in 1971 by a group of people concerned about the town and its future. Bury in Bloom is one of the Society’s sub-committees which is specifically concerned with floral decoration in and around the town and the Society makes annual awards for exceptional restoration, new build or landscaping work completed in the town.

On Saturday 2 November The British Trust for Ornithology will be in the library foyer from 10am-1pm offering advice on encouraging birds to use your garden, giving out spotter’s sheets and showing a special presentation.

The BTO is an independent and charitable organisation which works to provide information about birds and their habitats. They provide a broad range of surveys for volunteers to participate in, from counting garden birds, winter counts of water birds and sampling of breeding birds across the UK with volunteers also collecting data on other wildlife too.
