See Stars at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden
Accomplished Astrophotographers, Shaun Reynolds and Chris Grimmer, finalists in the Astronomy Photographer of the Year award in 2016 and 2015 respectively and UK Astrophotographer of the Year 2016, present A Gallery of Stars at Fairhaven Woodand and Water Garden from Tuesday, February 5 to Sunday, February 10. The exhibition, which is open daily 10am to 4pm, with free entry, features their photographs of stunning night sky vistas from around the world and the intricate beauty of the universe.
Then on Saturday, February 9 from 7pm to 10.30pm, join Norwich Astronomical Society at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden for the annual Star Night. The Astrononmical Society set up telescopes so you can explore the night sky and will do a series of talks in Shaun Reynolds and Chris Grimmer’s exhibition throughout the evening.
Wrap up warm and bring your own telescope if you have one. No torches please, as they destroy your night vision. Tickets for the evening are £4 adult, £3 child and free for Fairhaven members . Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden is at South Walsham, signposted off A47 at B1140 junction, half way between Norwich and Great Yarmouth.
The garden is open daily all year, 10am to 4pm until the end of February, then 10am to 5pm, and on Wednesdays until 9pm from May to the end of August. Entry charge is adult £6.85, concessions £6.60 and child £3.95 (free entry under 5s and Fairhaven members). Free entry to tearoom, provisions shop, gift shop and plant sales.
There is wheelchair access throughout the garden, including a Sensory Garden and an accessible boat for trips on the broad from April to October (additional charge). Visitors requiring special facilities are advised to telephone in advance, mobility scooters available.
Dogs are welcome on leads; small charge to cover poop scoop.
