Italy/France 2011. Directed by Andrea Segre and starring Zhao Tao and Rade Serbedzija it is the story of how two outsiders become unlikely friends in this Italian drama. Illegal immigrant, Shun Li is sent to Chioggia, near Venice, to work in a shabby bar on the banks of the lagoon. Bepi, a long exiled Croatian, is one of the fishermen who drink there. A haunting, lyrical and beautiful film. The film has a shiveringly lovely melancholic spirit that clings to your skin like wet jeans. Robbie Collin in The Daily Telegraph.
