It’s Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden’s annual Star Night on Saturday, February 8, from 7pm to 11pm. The event is hosted by Norwich Astronomical Society, who will be on hand with their telescopes to introduce visitors to the night sky.
Astrophotographer, Shaun Reynolds will be be giving a talk throughout the evening: ‘Seeing the Hidden Norfolk Skies’, featuring images he has captured in Norfolk, from the Milky Way to deep sky Galaxies, Nebulae and Super Nova remnants.
Please feel welcome to bring your own telescope. Wrap up warm. No torches please – it destroys your night vision. Hot food, tea, coffee and cake will be available in the tearoom from 7pm.

To coincide with Star Night, Shaun Reynolds and fellow photographer Chris Grimmer will be exhibiting their stunning astrophotography at Fairhaven, alongside spacepots created by potter, Michelle Daniels. The exhibition runs from Tuesday, February 4 to Sunday, February 9, daily 10am to 4pm, free entry.
Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden is at South Walsham, NR13 6DZ. The garden is open every day, 10am to 4pm until the end of February, then 10am to 5pm from March onwards. The tearoom opens at 9.15am for breakfast.
