stradbroke library Post Office

The popularity of the new Post Office which opened in Stradbroke Library in October has led to a consultation with customers over potential new opening hours. Visits to the library to use the post office more than doubled in the run up to Christmas.

Suffolk Libraries and the Stradbroke Courthouse and Library Trust are now considering changes to the opening hours to include a Monday afternoon opening to allow an extra mail collection.

Two options are being proposed which would mean the library would be open the same number of hours overall, but would open on a Monday which is felt would be of more help to local people. The library is currently closed on a Monday and the extra hours would be balanced by reducing opening hours on other days.

Maureen John, Stradbroke Library Manager, said: “It has been some time since the opening hours at Stradbroke Library were reviewed and with the introduction of the post office and the plans for increased use of the Courtroom, we want to ask local people for their views on two potential options for changing the opening times.”

There is a survey on the proposals which can be accessed online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7MTHQ78 or hard copies will be available in the library. The survey will be open from 19 January to the 23 February with the aim to introduce any changes in April.
