SUCCESS FOR WHERRY MAUD TRUST CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN

“With her distinctive black sail, Wherry Maud is one of Norfolk’s best loved sights on the Norfolk Broads. The only remaining trading wherry of typical construction, she Is maintained by Wherry Maud Trust’s team of dedicated volunteers who run trips throughout the year, keeping alive a significant part of the history and culture of the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads.
The Wherry Maud Trust campaign to raise money for a new support boat for Maud began in May 2021 and ran until the end of July. The full £10,500 needed was raised.
The final £2,000 came from two grants of £1,000 each from Love the Broads and The Lady Hind Trust.
Wherry Maud Trust extends grateful thanks for the grants and to all those individuals who donated during the campaign.
A suitable boat has now been purchased.
Even though we have achieved our objective of raising the £10,500 for the tender our fundraising efforts will remain active and people can continue to make donations to help secure the future of Maud by clicking the Donate button on the home page of wherrymaudtrust.org.
The next two challenges for the Trust will be Maud’s major maintenance in September and a drive for new members.
