Creative Employment Programme

The New Year is off to a fantastic start here at Suffolk Artlink, with one brand new project off the blocks, a new JumpstART term just around the corner and many of our trusty long term projects such as Rock Up and Clown Round continuing to go great guns thanks to an amazing level of ongoing support, funding and donations.

We’re also looking to develop the way we talk to others about what we do – and here’s where you come in! As a first step, we are researching how our friends and supporters see Suffolk Artlink. If you have 5 minutes to share your thoughts with us, we’d love you to take part in our super quick survey.

Family Carers

New arts project for young adult family carers

January sees the launch of our latest project, Avenues, run in partnership with Suffolk Family Carers. We’re offering young adult family carers the opportunity to explore new art forms, guided by a fantastic bunch of contemporary professional artists. The project includes three social ‘taster’ evenings, which culminate in a five-day summer school later in the year. Places still available. Read more.

New JumpstART Courses starting in February

We’re calling for students for three exciting new Theatre Arts courses for adults with learning disabilities. The courses take place in Bury St Edmunds, Lowestoft and Ipswich from 28th February, when we’ll be offering a packed schedule of drama, puppet making, prop making, costume and performance. Read more.

Three cheers for three fantastic funders

We are delighted to announce that Suffolk Artlink has been successful in securing new funding to support our Clown Round and Rock Up projects.

A huge thank you to Sobel, the St James’s Place Foundation and the Geoffrey Watling Charity for helping us to share the joys of creativity and imagination with those that need it the most. Read more.

Meet the Artist

We are lucky enough to work with some of the most talented artists found in the East. From poets to painters, printers to prop makers, they are all finely honed to bring a large splash of creativity and oodles of good cheer to our projects.

Each month we’ll be introducing you to one of the Suffolk Artlink family. First up is poet, Dean Parkin. Read more.

And finally, we’d like to say a huge thank you to Lucy, Rebecca, Fiona, Louise and Cally from East of Bury St Edmunds Winter Open Studios Trail for their generous donation of £252.50. By holding a raffle and encouraging donations to Suffolk Artlink during their winter event, we can inject a little bit of creative magic into even more lives!
