Forget-me-nots
We are launching the new Forget-me-not pilot project this month which has been funded by the Big Lottery Awards For All Fund. The project aims to improve the health and well-being of older people with dementia and/or complex needs. ‘Forget-me-nots’ will use person-centred performing arts to engage and empower people, to make a connection, encourage communication and offer creative opportunities for self-expression.The project will be working in three different settings: Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust’s new Complex Care Unit, a Sue Ryder Day Service for people with dementia and complex needs and a Residential Care Home in Ipswich.

Just for fun competition
We are inviting people to have a go at contributing to our new logo design? We had a happy half hour here at Suffolk Artlink HQ last week coming up with ideas for a new style of logo. We’d love to invite our friends and supporters to add their creativity to it.

You can play around with our existing idea (see below), or transform it completely. We would like the logo to include our name ‘suffolkartlink’, written as one word in lower case letters and to include our strapline ‘making creative connections’/ Other than that the world is you logo.

Creative Carers
Suffolk Artlink is pleased to present a Social Return on Investment (SROI) report analysing the impact of Creative Carers.Creative Carers is a training programme that instils a broad sense of creativity into older people’s care homes, developed by Suffolk Artlink in partnership with artists Caroline Wright and Helen Rousseau.

With nearly one million people living and working in care homes in the UK, and life expectancy increasing at a rate of more than five hours a day, care of elderly residents in care homes is a big issue. Unlike many arts projects, Creative Carers offers workforce development rather than one-off participation. The programme is not about training activity co-ordinators, rather it is about all staff taking every opportunity to make an encounter creative.

Please find attached a press release explaining more about the Creative Carers SROI report. A full version of the report can be found at www.suffolkartlink.org.uk/creative-carers
