At a time of year that heralds new beginnings, we end the month with the fantastic news of a £100,000 Arts Council England award, which will support our brand new project, Make, Do & Friends.

It’s wonderful to have recognition for the way our work can address issues of rural isolation for older people living in Suffolk, and we can’t wait to start working together with our project partners, DanceEast and the Rural Coffee Caravan.

Wishing you a wonderful seasonal break and some new beginnings of your own!

Alex & Hayley, Co-Directors

Arts Council England

We’re celebrating receiving £100,000 for our project, Make, Do & Friends. This will bring together Suffolk Artlink, DanceEast and Rural Coffee Caravan in an exciting partnership to explore new ways of reaching rurally isolated older people to make a positive impact on their lives. Read more.

Meet our newest team member, Jess Browne

A word from our friends

Please find details about a fantastic Public Art Commission in Lavenham. Budget is £10,000 and closing date for submissions is 30th June 2018.

A short list of artists will be invited to register their interest in the project and present their idea to the selection panel. A connection with East Anglia would be advantageous but not essential. This commission is open to all artists at any time in their education or career. Following this a shortlist of artists will be interviewed for the commission.

Artists interested in being considered for this project should contact Nicola Smith, Secretary – Lavenham Community Land Trust on 07817 170906 and [email protected]

We’d like to say a huge thank you to The Arts Society of West Suffolk for their generous gift of £250 towards our work this month.

Thanks also go to Diana and Tony, who very kindly donated their recent £50 pub quiz win towards our work. It’s good to know we have the support of such knowledgeable types!
