As we begin the run up to the festive period, we already have a lot to celebrate.
Make, Do & Friends is off to a great start – we’re now looking for volunteers to support us as we use the arts to combat rural isolation. And as we celebrate another inspiring and rewarding JumpstART module, we’re inviting you to enjoy our student’s creations at public events in December.
We’d also like to say a huge well done to Team Suffolk Artlink, who successfully completed the Adnams 10k run this month in support of our work.
With our warm winter wishes,
Alex & Hayley, Co-Directors
Volunteer with us!
If you live in Babergh, you like to be creative and you’ve got a few hours to spare in the first couple of months of the New Year, why not come and volunteer to help out at our ‘Make, Do and Friends’ project? Read more about volunteering on our Make, Do and Friends project.
Dates for your diary
We’re pleased to invite you to celebration events, marking the successful conclusion of our JumpstART term, during which our students have enjoyed exploring the art of storytelling.
At the events, taking place 18 – 20 December, our students will be sharing their stories alongside imaginative and touching props and artworks. Read more about the JumpstART exhibitons.
Well done to Team Suffolk Artlink
We’d like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful Rachel, John, Clair, Matt and Keith for taking on the Adnams Southwold 10k in aid of Suffolk Artlink.
On Sunday 18th November, Team Suffolk Artlink donned their red t-shirts and took on the challenge with gusto, together raising more than £1,500. Read more about their run.
Meet the Artist: Colin Brinkley
The lovely Colin Brinkley is one of our JumpstART students, who also took part in our Step Up project.
This month, a series of Colin’s illustrations were chosen to feature on Suffolk County Council’s Christmas Card – what a wonderful way to showcase Colin’s characterful and colourful work! Read the interview with Colin Brinkley.
A word from our friends
If you are a creative practitioner who uses participatory practice in relation to health and wellbeing, researchers at Gray’s School of Art, Robert Gordon University would like to assess what support you receive, and what kinds of activities you undertake to support yourself. The survey takes ten minutes and is open until 3 December. Click here to complete the survey.
