Clown Round
Doctor Haystack, Doctor Misschief and Doctor Fidget are pleased to welcome five new trainee Clown Doctors, Frank Wurzinger, Jenny Holland, Kimberley Moore, Lesley Wilson and Lucy Enskat.

Congratulations!!
At the beginning of this year the Clown Doctors invited local artists to join them for a training play day. Artists learnt about the Clown Round programme and what it is like to work as a Clown Doctor. Suffolk Artlink recruited five trainee Clown Doctors, last month was the first of many training sessions for the artists. There were so many wonderful, weird and funny Clown Doctor names coming out of the training day, names and specialities are still to be finalised. Watch this space as we hope to introduce the new Clown Doctors very soon.

Doctor Haystack, Doctor Misschief and Doctor Fidget are very much looking forward to starting on the hospital wards at Colchester, Ipswich and James Paget after the summer holidays. This time they will also be joined by the trainee Clown Doctors.
Thank you to all of the play and medical staff on the children’s wards for their support towards Clown Round.

Suffolk At Play
September sees the start of Suffolk at Play at Felixstowe Academy, with year 7 and 8 students taking part with members of the local library Top Time Group – it will be good to get started again, and this time we are welcoming a new volunteer to our work, Jennifer Barrett.

Jenni is a Skills for the Future trainee at the Museum of East Anglian Life, working in Collections and Learning and is also currently undertaking an MA in Museums and Galleries in Education; hopefully taking part in Suffolk at Play will support both her practical skills and experience and contribute to her academic studies.

Activities Unlimited Fun Day
We are looking forward to working with Kate Munro and Caitlin Howells at the Activities Unlimited Fun Day in Lowestoft on 13 September – apparently we’ve been given the run of the art room and the music room, so anything could happen … I’ll let you know how we got on next month.
