Suffolk Libraries will be holding a new countywide event on Sunday 27 January. Super Happy Sunday will focus on improving people’s health and happiness at what can be a gloomy time of year.

Suffolk Libraries has teamed up with  East of England Co-op, Abbeycroft Leisure, Everyone Active, DW Fitness First,  Sentinel Leisure Trust and Action for Happiness for the event. Thanks to the generosity of these organisations, library staff will be offering free leisure centre and health club passes, free happiness-boosting postcards and free East of England Co-op vouchers for healthy teas and snacks to customers. Suffolk Libraries is also linking up with the Suffolk County Council’s Most Active County partnership.

There will be displays of wellbeing books in libraries and a host of different activities taking place for customers to enjoy. Suffolk Libraries has also created several health and wellbeing themed eLibrary lists.

Lisa Brennan, content and reader development librarian, said: “We’re aiming to help people start 2019 with a smile instead of the January blues and encourage them to visit a library in Suffolk for Super Happy Sunday. It’ll be a day for boosting your mood with free giveaways thanks to the generosity of the organisations who are supporting the event. Why not make time for you this year and join us on Sunday 27 January at Suffolk Libraries to focus on your happiness and health?”

Visiting one of our libraries offers the chance to get a Super Happy Sunday surprise envelope containing a happiness postcard, one of 1,300 free leisure centre passes and the possibility of getting one of fifty available £5 Co-op vouchers.
