Suffolk Libraries are supporting the NHS campaign to get more people to sign up to the Organ Donor Register.

Information leaflets about organ donation and how to sign up to the NHS Organ Donor Register are now available from special displays in all Suffolk Libraries. The leaflets cover issues such as frequently asked questions and religious beliefs regarding organ donation.

There are currently more than 10,000 people in the UK who need an organ transplant to save or enhance their lives and three people die every day because they don’t get the transplant they need.

Suffolk Libraries Mental Health and Wellbeing Service has organised the displays to help encourage more people to join the register or to find out more. If you are visiting your local library and want to find out more just look out for the leaflets or ask a member of staff where they are.

To find out where your local library is or what hours it’s open visit www.suffolklibraries.co.uk or call 01473 584563. For more information about organ donation go to www.organdonation.nhs.uk
