Wonderful Beast Orla and the sun

Suffolk Libraries are hosting an amazing and interactive music theatre tour for babies and young children next month.

Suffolk based theatre company Wonderful Beast are bringing two of their popular shows to seven of the county’s libraries in May. Tickets to the immersive musical performances will be free thanks to funding from Arts Council England.

The two shows – ‘Orla’s Moon’ and ‘Orla and the Sun’ are both aimed at babies and children up to three years old. They both involve music, dance, and plenty of sensory and creative play for children.

Each show lasts about an hour with a ten-minute pre-show, a 30-minute show and 20 minutes free play afterwards. As places are limited to 25 children per performance, the free tickets must be reserved in advance at the library.

 More about Wonderful Beast:

Wonderful Beast is a Suffolk-based theatre company, which brings myths, legends, folk and fairy tales to audiences of all ages and in all sorts of ways. It rarely tells stories the same way twice and music always plays a prominent role. The company has dramatized tales from all over the world: it has sung, danced, played and animated them, devised bi-lingual shows (Norwegian in Tatterhood and Hindi in Little Red Chunni), and staged two community operas, The Six Swans in 2014 and The Nightingale in 2016. Wonderful Beast has collaborated with English Touring Opera on nation-wide school tours, work shopped and performed in India and launched Storm of Stories, a biennial festival in Suffolk.
