Visitors to a Suffolk nature reserve are invited to help make some nature sculptures over the bank holiday weekend, which will then form a part of a temporary sculpture trail on the reserve.

Liz McGowan, the new resident artist at RSPB Minsmere nature reserve, will be in the Discovery Centre from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday 25 to Monday 27 August 2012, to help visitors to create a series of exciting sculptures at the Memories to the Future event. Afterwards, these sculptures will be displayed along the path from Minsmere’s Wild Zone to the Wildlife Lookout throughout the following week.

Minsmere’s Learning Manager, Andrea Titchiner, said:

“This is an exciting opportunity for visitors to display some of their artistic flair and share their memories of Minsmere. It is the first of series of artistic projects that Liz will leading at Minsmere over the next couple of years.”

There’s another chance for visitors to share their memories of Minsmere on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 August 2012 when photographer and volunteer Minsmere guide, Ivan Levett, will help visitors to explore their camera and discover their images, as he explains how the dials on digital cameras work.

Both events are free, drop-in events, and no booking is required, although usual reserve entry fees apply.
