The-Gramophones

A theatre company will be entertaining and engaging with library customers in West Suffolk next week. The Gramophones are a Nottingham based theatre company based who specialise in ‘witty, interactive theatre with a twinkle in its eye.’

The Gramophones will be offering a ‘story exchange’ when they visit Bury St Edmunds Library, Brandon Library and several mobile library stops next week. The idea is for the group to share their own stories in return for hearing the stories of library customers, which they might even feature in their new show which will be touring the region next year.

The dates for the Gramophones’ visits are:

Monday 3 March 2014 – Bury St. Edmunds Library

Tuesday 4th to Thursday 6th March 2014 – The Gramophones will be on board the mobile library when it stops in the following places: Stowupland, Wattisfield, Stanton, Barningham, Bardwell, Moreton Hall, Stradishall, Sowley Green, Great Thurlow, Great Bradley, Little Thurlow, Great Wratting, Barnardiston, Hundon, Stradishall, Horringer, Cowlinge, Lidgate, Wickhambrook, Depden Green, Denston and Chedburgh.

Friday 7 March 2014 – Brandon Library
At Bury and Brandon libraries the group will be there most of the day. If people are looking for the full details of mobile library routes they can visit suffolklibraries.co.uk/community-services/mobile-libraries

Creative Arts East have been working with Suffolk Libraries to bring this work to Suffolk. The aim is to engage with new audiences and Creative Arts East are commissioning this exciting theatre company to create a new show that will include stories from this area.  The finished show will tour to the area in Spring or Summer 2015.  This work is funded by Arts Council England, Forest Heath District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council.
