On 16th March 2013 the Southwold Concert Series presents a recital by distinguished Bulgarian cellist Alexander Somov and series director Nathan Williamson.

Their programme is the first of two concerts in Southwold this year paying tribute to Benjamin Britten in his centenary year. Britten’s Third Suite for Solo Cello forms the centrepiece of a programme of ‘Bach, Britten and Brahms’, the two other composers being those whom Britten respectively revered (Bach) and disliked (Brahms).

Bach’s music is a solo keyboard French Suite in G major, with Brahms’ Second Cello Sonata, in F major, concluding the programme.
