The parish of Freckenham are extremely excited to be welcoming The Vicar of Dibley, to give a special sermon at St Andrew’s Church on Sunday 11th August at 6pm with support from the arts and community development charity Creative Arts East.

The congregation will be transported to the quaint village of Dibley, where the residents are coming to terms with their new female(!) vicar. The show has been adapted by The Seagull Rep and features episodes such as The Arrival, Songs of Praise and The Easter Bunny, with the addition of some gentle interaction for the audience. There is even a chance to be in the “Songs of Praise Choir”! This smart and funny show is a chance for audiences to discover (or rediscover) this classic in a brand new way. Originally written by Richard Curtis and Paul Mayhew-Archer, this adaptation of the Dawn French sitcom is perfect summer fun for all the family.

You can see The Vicar of Dibley at St Andrew’s Church, Freckenham on Sunday 11th August 2013 at 6pm.

This event is organised in partnership with Creative Arts East with funding by Suffolk County Council, Forest Heath District Council, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and Arts Council England.

About: Creative Arts East

Creative Arts East is an arts and community development charity founded in 1994 with the focus of taking the arts into rural communities. Creative Arts East works throughout Norfolk, Suffolk & the East running Creative Arts East Live! & Village Screen – rural touring schemes for live performance and cinema; Arts Round Up – an arts marketing distribution service; and a variety of projects concerned with creative learning, health & wellbeing and volunteer development.

Creative Arts East Live! is a rural touring scheme which aims to provide memorable, uplifting and enjoyable arts experiences that enrich community life and provides a focus for shared celebration. By working in partnership with local volunteers, the scheme brings high quality and affordable arts events, within easy travelling distance to the rural communities of Norfolk and Suffolk.

”The events my family, friends and I have attended have all been wonderful and have brought the whole community together. Without these events, the village communities would be even more isolated.”
