Prepare a wish-making potion, create a mini mammoth and bottle-feed a lamb in north Norfolk this February half term. Here Visit North Norfolk lists some of its top family-friendly events:-

Boggle-Wish-Bonfire

Join the Boggles at BeWILDerwood to compose a wish-making potion and see the warming fire pit at Boggle Wish Bonfire between 15 and 23 February (10am-5.30pm). Clamber across jungle bridges, whizz down zipwires, slither down the Slippery Slopes and head to the ‘Big Hat’ which will be brimming with pine cones and twigs, card, tissue paper, pots and pans and gallons of glittery glue! Included in general admission. Adults £13.50 and children £11.50. People under 92cm go free.

Create a mini mammoth and find out about the deadly creatures and dinosaurs which roamed the earth millions of years ago at Monster Mammoths and Deadly Dinosaurs at Lynn Museum on 18 February (11am and 4pm). Even big kids will enjoy handling real fossils and seeing a real mammoth’s tooth! £1.50 per person.

Kelling Heath holds Acorn Events, which offer families the chance to meet new friends, while learning about the environment and the wildlife that lives there. Have fun shelter building, getting messy, being creative with natural art and craft, camping, enjoying a family BBQ and going on a scavenger hunt! Running between 15 and 22 February, other events include a pirate parade, family bingo and fables by the fireside.

Buzz-around-at-Nature-Explorer-at-Pensthorpe

Buzz around at Nature Explorer at Pensthorpe Wildlife & Gardens between 15 and 23 February (10am-5pm). Families will love exploring the 500-acre nature Reserve near Fakenham aimed at connecting children with the natural world. From wetlands, gardens, farmland, woodland, a conservation centre, WildRootz outdoor adventure play area, bird feeding, pond dipping and exciting trails, a visit is packed with things to see and do. The event is included in regular ticket price of £11.25 for adults and £8.00 for children.
Nests-and-Nest-Building-activity-workshop

Sculthorpe Moor Community Nature Reserve is holding a Nests and Nest Building activity workshop for children on 19 February (2pm to 4pm). Find out about birds and animals that build nests then have a go at building your own in the woods. £3.50 per child.

Bottle-feed a lamb and get up close to real animals in a farmyard setting at Wroxham Barns Junior Farm. Head to Piggy’s Play Sty, collect eggs from the henhouses and visit the new undercover piggery. For mum and dad there’s shopping galore, arts and crafts and a cafe selling delicious home-cooked fare. Open daily from 10am to 5pm, entry to the Junior Farm is £5.75 per person.

Follow the clues, crack the code and search the workhouse at Gressenhall Workhouse and its Mystery of the Missing Brooch Treasure Hunt between 17 and 21 February (10am-4pm). Families can hunt down the missing brooch and discover what accessories a fashionable Victorian might wear, as well as make their own brooch to take home in Art Attack! Included in museum price adults £9.30, concessions £8.30 and young people (aged 4-16) £6.30.
