Bungay Fisher Theatre
John Renbourn & Robin Williamson

Two of the world’s most talented folk luminaries from the 60s. John has worked with a galaxy of legends from Bert Jansch, Davey Graham and formed Pentangle in 1967. Robin was born in Edinburgh and formed The Incredible String Band around the same time as Pentangle. Robert Plant, Neil Tennant (Pet Shop Boys) and Bill Drummond (KLF) cite ISB as a major influence. Decades have passed and tonight sees a rare collaboration pooling from their vast experiences.

Treasure Island – Waveney Light Opera Group – Beccles
A Stage Musical

Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic story ‘Treasure Island’ is arguably one of the greatest works of storytelling in the English language.

This stage musical version is fast moving and enjoyable – “a Jolly Salt-Encrusted Musical Adventure on the High Seas”! Suitable for audiences of all ages with lots of songs about rum (naturally with a few “yo-ho-ho’s” thrown in), treasure maps where ‘X’ marks the spot and one-legged salty old sea dogs with parrots that scream ‘pieces of eight’. It’s funny, has some rollicking good songs, dancing and a bevy of beautiful grass-skirted maidens.

Venue: Public Hall, Smallgate, Beccles
