Safety and Health Awareness Day

Basically following on from the success of our Safety and Health Awareness Day for Waveney DC staff in September 2006 we have decided to enlarge the event, open it to the public and move to a larger venue – the Waveney Sports and Leisure Centre on Water Lane in Lowestoft.

This years event will be on Wednesday the 19th of September 2007 from 10am to 4.30pm. There will be a wide range of activities, displays and company stalls. Highlights will include:

Free Taster Sessions of Activities including Climbing Wall, Spinning, Roller Skating, Massage and Aerobics.

Health and Fitness Assessments

Healthy Eating and Drinking

Free Swim in the Afternoon including “Stroke Improvement” and Inflatables

Driver Improvement – Hazard Perception

Ergonomic Seating and Desks

Protective Clothing (PPE)

First Aid with St. John’s Ambulance

Fire Prevention and Advice with Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service

All in all it should be a fun day suitable for all the family, individuals and businesses. Personal visitors will be able to take advantage of the wide range of activities and discounts as well as getting useful information on health and wellbeing. Business visitors will have the opportunity to network, view suppliers of office and safety equipment and speak to members of the Waveney District Council staff.
