Wayland Agricultural Show

Promoting rural life and supporting charities

The Wayland Agricultural Show, one of the longest running traditional shows in the UK and every year it doesn’t fail to disappoint or entertain and returns again on Sunday 5th August 2012.

Main Ring Action
The show’s main ring, action-packed, spectacular and dangerous quad-bike stunts and jumps will be performed by ex-world champion motocross rider Jason Smyth’s ‘Adrenalin Tour’, plus the famous Meirion Owen ‘Quack Pack’ is back by popular demand to enthral us with their highly entertaining duck herding demonstrations.

In addition, the show’s livestock and the EQLife Working Hunter Championships and showing classes, Mid Norfolk Gun Dogs, West Norfolk Hunt Hounds, Horkesley Park Suffolk Punches, vintage vehicles.

Look out for the Taste of Norfolk, Lifestyle, Arts & Crafts, Fur & Feather, Horticulture and Home marquees and the many trade displays that will ensure an unmissable day out.

Graham Shingfield, chairman of the Wayland Agricultural Show says: “Year on year this popular show gets better and better. It’s a traditional country show and a really food fun, family day out. All the profits of the show go back to local charities and local clubs and the whole thing is a fantastic community effort. We have a great line-up this year so not to be missed!”

The Wayland Show is pleased to have Norfolk’s own Simon Blackwell who was a contestant in BBC2’s The Great British Bake Off in 2011 and who now runs Simple Pies with his wife Caroline. Simon will be helping with the catering and making pizza that visitors will be able to try. Austin Chapman, head chef at the Swan at Hilborough, will be giving Simon a challenge in one of the cooking demonstrations.

Café Lifestyle will be open throughout the day for teas and refreshments.

There will also be a prize giving for the Young Achiever Award. The award is open to anyone in Norfolk and we welcome nominations from relatives or friends of individuals who they consider worthy of the achievement.
