WINGS and WHEELS

HENHAM PARK, HENHAM, SUFFOLK
SUNDAY 9th MAY 2010 10am-4pm

Sunday 9th May from 10am till 4pm see’s Henham Park nr Southwold turned once more into one of the busiest airstrips in the country. With the return of the ever popular Breitling Wing Walkers, as well as the Silence Twister Display Team, the skies will be alive with gravity defying aerial displays.

Fingers crossed we will also have a visit from the Vintage Piper Aircraft Club, flying Piper aircraft from wartime spotter planes to a 1964 Piper Trispace Hopefully we will land even more planes than last year (when over 50 small and light aircraft landed).

All flying displays depend on weather conditions and volcanos!!
Alongside the planes are over 500 vintage and classic vehicles for you to marvel at and talk to their owners, discover the history of your favourite marques.

On the ground will more exciting entertainment for the first time we have two totally different attractions each in their own arena.

The Medieval Combat Society is a stunning display of a chivalric foot tournament from the 14th century, as knights battle each other using authentic metal armour and weapons, reproduced from the reign of King Edward III. History is brought to live, your chance to sample medieval life with dancing and music from the period.

The other arena is totally WACKY, with knockabout comedy trampoline stunts, zany spinning plates , musical and magical clowning, stiltwalking and audience participation all provided by the Wacky Tumbliars.

The fun doesn’t end there, you can take a model train ride, steer a model boat, have a donkey ride, or enjoy one of the many children’s rides.

If this is all too much action take a stroll round the craft marquee, wonder round the trade stalls or just relax with one of the many varieties of food on sale and watch the planes landing and taking off.
