Wymondham Abbey Duck Race

Wymondham Abbey Duck Race

Wymondham Abbey’s annual Duck Race on the River Tiffey takes place on Easter Monday, April 17. The races start at 11am, with ducks from just £1. The event will be held at Becketswell, at the bottom of the road below the Abby and entry is free.

This popular event has been held every Easter Monday for many years, and is a great day out for families. The organisers are planning six races. On site there will be stalls, including cakes, jams and chutneys, face painting, books and a tombola. Refreshments will be on sale, including hot dogs, burgers, ice cream and cold drinks.

There will also be a pop up café operating in the Abbey, serving hot drinks and cakes. Toilets are available in the Abbey.

If the weather is unsuitable for an outdoor race, then the whole show will be transferred to the Abbey. The organisers tried this out last year when the weather was dreadful, and it was a great success. “We will never let the weather get us down!” said organiser Joyce Reynolds.
