fine art diploma

Anteros Arts Foundation, the arts and education charity based on Fye Bridge Street in Norwich, is launching its own skills-based fine art diploma.

An open day for prospective students is being staged on Saturday, November 5, with guided tours at 11am and 2.30pm, including an opportunity to meet Martin Laurance, one of the diploma tutors, who will be leading a mixed media and oil painting course that morning.

Flik Hemmant, Director Anteros Arts Foundation explained: “We have been successfully running a series of fine art courses for the last six years for beginners and improvers. The Anteros Diploma is the natural progression for students wanting to develop their skills in a more intensive way.”

The diploma features modules in drawing, painting, printingmaking, sculpture and art theory. There is also a community art module, during which students will gain experience in presentation, collaboration and out-reach. The tutors: Rachel Kurdynowska, sculpture, Martin Laurance painting, Joe Mounser, printmaking, Elsie Phipps, painting, Sophia Shuvalova, drawing and Andrew Taylor, Art History are all practising artists. Their work can be seen at this year’s Anteros Christmas Show.

Studio space will be provided for the duration of the course. The Anteros fine art reference library of more than 500 titles will be at the students’ disposal, along with IT facilities. The course offers two opportunities to exhibit work, including an end of year exhibition of final major pieces.

The Anteros Diploma will run from September 2017 to April 2018, over a 28-week period, on evenings and weekends. For more information see anterosdiploma.com, e. [email protected], t. 01603 766129.
