Three Great War veterans dream of making their escape from the soldiers’ retirement home where they live, they never will of course but their story is poignant with moments of sadness but also with gentle humour.

Based in Diss, South Norfolk, the Mere Players have been performing costume Dramas, hilarious Farces, Plays, Musical Revues, Pantomimes and full length Musicals for well over 30 years.

The Society was formed in 1974. Since that two, and at times three, productions have been presented each year, including comedies, thrillers, dramas, and musicals, as well as a pantomime or Christmas play.
