Southwold RFC U10s won the Prima Tiger Cup regional Festival at Swaffham RFC on Sunday.
This annual tournament organised by Leicester Tigers pitches club U10s teams against each other for a place in the finals at the Tigers’ home ground at Welford Road next year. Southwold RFC, the little club on the coast with a big heart, battled against the bigger clubs conceding only one try throughout the festival. The lads won the final, 3 tries to nil, against Peterborough RFC.
“Southwold 1st XV are unbeaten and the top the league, the Ladies XV were promoted last season, the Colts are thriving, the U13s won the Suffolk 7s and now the U10s are regional champs. Not bad for a little club.”

The Prima Tiger Cup is a contact based tournament open to all under 10’s clubs.The tournament takes part over five festivals covering the Tigers Academy Region and beyond. Through a series of festivals, teams compete to win a place to represent their club in the knockout stages held at Welford Road.
