Launching on Thursday 12 June 2104 at 5.00pm, Norwich will be alive with street performers and music including a Guinness world record holder from the world famous London Convent Garden. Visitors to the city can expect to see Timberhill, Gentlemans Walk and St Gregorys Green buzzing with street entertainment talent.

The launch night will see five exciting acts showcasing their talent and wowing visitors.  The line-up for the night includes Rob Roy Collins one of the UK’s top escape artists and Guinness World record holder, Anna Mudeka who brings a whirlwind of dancing, singing and drumming along with local comedians J&A.  Complementing these acts will be 10ft tall Sergeant Majors stilt act and music from Bloco.

Organised by Norwich BID and running until Thursday 28 August 2014, free Thursday evening entertainment in Norwich will delight visitors as they wonder and explore the city.

Not only will the city see a taste of Covent Garden but visitors can also expect to see lively and colourful carnival style events, music and bands including the Vagaband, street theatre and a Norwich has got Talent stage dedicated to showcasing local acts organised by Norwich and Norfolk Community Arts (NORCA).

Norwich BID is working with The Forum to bring Millennium Plain alive with a series of film nights during June and July.  Showing every Thursday at 8pm from 12 June until 10 July, classic retro films, as chosen by the public will be shown on the Open Air Screen outside The Forum where free popcorn will be given away.

Stefan Gurney, Executive Director of Norwich BID said, “It’s great that we can bring a flavour of Covent Garden and local acts to the streets of Norwich, adding to the vibrancy of what our fine city already has to offer.  The large open air screen will be a great way to enjoy summer evenings in the city.  Thursday nights during the summer in Norwich are not to be missed!”
