JO CAULFIELD – THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS WRONG

at Theatre Royal

Have you ever noticed that even when you’re right, you’re wrong? From the potential minefields of dating, relationships and divorce, to the simple things, like booking a holiday, or joining a pub-quiz team – nothing is ever as straightforward as it should be. Jo Caulfield is determined to get things back on track…

Award-winning Stand-Up comedian Jo Caulfield takes a humorous look at life’s potential traps, what can go wrong and how to deal with them (and, in some cases, how to make everyone else suffer with you).

This is a 90 minute laugh-out-loud show, full of razor-sharp observations; sharp, witty and insightful, Jo will make you think as much as she makes you laugh – you won’t be disappointed.

As seen on The John Bishop Show (BBC One), Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC One), Mock the Week (BBC Two) and Have I Got News For You (BBC One).

WHEN WE ARE MARRIED

at Theatre Royal

Cleckleywyke, a town in the West Riding, 1908.

The Helliwells, the Parkers and the Soppitts are highly respected pillars of their community but not for much longer.

Married on the same day in the same chapel, they gather to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

The celebrations are short lived when they discover the vicar wasn’t licensed and they are actually not married. In fact, they have been living in sin for 25 years.

Watch with mounting glee as the pandemonium switches from horrified social embarrassment to the realisation that they are free from the shackles of long tedious marriages. Home truths are dealt, bullies get their retribution and the hen-pecked are hilariously and most satisfyingly liberated.

J B Priestley’s heartily entertaining northern comedy plays right into the hands of the remarkable Northern Broadsides, a company celebrated by audiences for its charisma, vitality and relish of language.

JULIAN CLARY: THE JOY OF MINCING

JULIAN CLARY: THE JOY OF MINCING

at Theatre Royal

Julian Clary, national trinket, author, TV and radio star is coming up your way…

The Joy of Mincing is Julian Clary’s celebration of 30 years as a camp comedian. There is so much to tell you; the ups and downs of his sordid love life, the true and heart stopping account of how he saved Dame Joan Collins’ life, and don’t start him on the perils of his DIY electrical home enema kit.

On stage Julian will proudly wear his well-deserved M.B.E (Mincer of the British Empire). It was the last thing he expected to receive when he knelt down in front of Prince Charles in the scullery at Buckingham Palace…

And because Julian gives and gives (until it hurts) he will be handing out honours to the lucky few in the audience too. This is Julian at his filthy best. Live and unplugged.

Come and witness a masterclass in camp comedy.
