Dangerous Corner by J B Priestley
Set in pre-War England, Dangerous Corner follows the drama of Robert and Freda Caplan and their well-heeled guests at yet another dinner party. However, as they settle down to what should be an enjoyable evening of entertaining and socialising, a chance remark about a cigarette box gradually leads to a breakdown in ease, manners, decorum and finally civility. As the truths begin to spill out, suicide, betrayal and even worse become the subject of conversation and their outwardly perfect lives begin to crumble
