From huge flocks of avocets and black-tailed godwits, to singing woodlarks and flitting dragonflies, the Alde Estuary is one of the best places to watch wildlife in Suffolk.

Later this month, there’s a rare opportunity to find out about the spectacular wildlife of this beautiful estuary when RSPB Snape Warden, David Fairhurst, gives a talk entitled “The birds of the Alde estuary” at Iken Barns on Friday 30 March 2012.

Event organiser, Emma Johnson from Iken Barns said, “Having moved to Iken a couple of years ago my interest in the amazing variety of bird species which visit the region has fascinated me. It will be interesting to learn more about the wildlife in the area and hopefully I be able to pass on my knowledge to the number of people who visit here. I am sure local people will find this talk very appealing as well as people interested in the great work that the RSPB does.”

Anyone interested in attending this great talk is asked to book in advance by contacting Emma at Iken Barns on 01728 688899 or emailing [email protected]. Costs are £5 per person, and the talk is scheduled for 7.30 pm, for an 8 pm start.
