Driving School Awarded 3.6 Million Training Contract

AcciDon’t one of the UK’s providers of driving training for companies have been awarded the 3.6 million pound contract to train the Army – Royal Marines – Royal Fusiliers at their defence school of transport at Leconfield in East Yorkshire.

This is the third largest of it’s type to have been awarded by the MOD to AcciDon’t. This will provide driver training for over 1,700 soldiers per year.

The whole base at Leconfield has been developed into a driver training centre the complete layout of roads covering 17 km.

The road layouts include mini roundabouts – box junctions – traffic lights – pedestrian crossings – hill starts all of which can be practised before using public roads in and around Beverly and Hull, this reduces the amount of training vehicles around the town areas.

Although this has secured the work for local trainers and will not affect major contracts working with AcciDon’t around the UK on a day to day base. Simon Johnston and Peter Williamson Directors of AcciDon’t will be spending time in Yorkshire each month sharing the administrative duties.

Any companies throughout East Anglia or anyone looking for driver training are able to contact [email protected] or speak to Mike direct on 07860 452 421.

Mike spent the first week of the launch for driver training at Leconfield said the vast area used everyday for training and the volume of soldiers being trained is really mind blowing. In today’s climate there are exciting times ahead and with AcciDon’ts proven track record of professional service and training which will now benefit our Army services.
