Fairhaven Garden January Art Exhibitions
Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden is hosting a series of three art exhibitions in January. South Walsham Art Club kicks off the programme from 9 to 14 January. Following the Art Club are Ann Feavers and Roger Burnay, from 16 to 21 January and Hobland Arts Collective, from 23 to 28 January. The exhibitions are open from 10am to 4pm and entry is free.
South Walsham Art Club
Tuesday 9 to Sunday 14 January
The members of the Thursday art group who meet weekly at St Lawrence’s are presenting an exhibition of their recent work. There is a wide range of subjects and styles from the group who paint what interests and inspires them, whether it is flowers, landscapes, animals or a bowl of fruit.
Ann Feavers and Roger Burnay
Tuesday 16 to Sunday 21 January
Ann will be showing her new range of flower painting as well as Victorian-style paintings on glass, demonstrating how they are produced. Roger, an animal and wildlife painter, working in oils and pastels, specialising in pet portraits, will be demonstrating his work. They will also have prints, cards and 2018 calendars for sale.
Hobland Arts Collective
Tuesday 23 to Sunday 28 January
Three artists, inspired by nature and natural form, working in different mediums, independently and collaboratively. Ruth Straughan works in stained glass, Gillian Southgate creates decorative pieces in ceramics, wood and metals, and Vivienne Rainsbury is a painter specialising in wildlife and animal art.
Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden is at South Walsham, nine miles east of Norwich, signposted off A47 at B1140 junction, t. 01603 270449, www.fairhavengarden.co.uk.
The garden is open daily all winter 10am to 4pm . Garden entry is adults £6.75, concessions £6.15 and children £3.85 ( Fairhaven members and under 5 free). Free entry to tearoom, gift shop and plant sales.
There is wheelchair access throughout the garden, including a Sensory Garden and boat trips (April to October, additional charge). Visitors requiring special facilities are advised to telephone in advance, mobility scooters available.
Dogs are welcome on leads; small charge to cover poop scoop.
