Norwich streets to come alive with free Street Entertainment

The city will once again come alive with free live music from local bands and entertainment from world famous Covent Garden street performers.

Head Out, Not Home summer events programme – organised by Norwich Business Improvement District (BID) in conjunction with NORCA – will enliven the city centre with a burst of music and entertainment for 10 weeks.

Each Thursday evening (weather permitting), across five different city centre locations between 16:40 and 20:00 there will be something for the entire family to enjoy.

Visitors to the city can expect to see Gentleman’s Walk, London Street, St Gregory’s Green, Westlegate/Ber Street and new for 2018 Norwich Arts Centre Front Lawn buzzing with vibrant music and street entertainment.

Stefan Gurney, Executive Director of Norwich BID said, “The Head Out, Not Home extravaganza is now in its sixth year and during that time has established itself as a major cultural entertainment festival in the city centre’s calendar and has a keen following!  We’re looking forward to welcoming the vast array of vibrant musicians and street performers to Norwich this summer.  Thursday evenings for the next 10 weeks are not to be missed, there will be so much to see and do, remember to Head Out, Not Home and have some fun.”

Trés Pantalon are a beats heavy, polly-rhythmical quintet from the East of England. Coined ‘Post-Funk’ by BBC introducing this brass and bass instrumental ensemble swap lyrics for bold guitar riffs, heavy bass lines and sweetly syncopated horns.  The band are fresh from a series of festival gigs this summer, and will be appearing at Maui Waui in a few weeks. trespantalon.bandcamp.com
