The 36th Henham Steam Rally
September 18th and 19th 2010
This will be our 36th Rally and it promises to be bigger and better than ever. More things to see – more things to do for all ages and all tastes.
Fire fighting through the ages.
The history of fire fighting in the UK is this year’s pageant; a fascinating story presented to you in Ring 1 showing how we’ve arrived at the fire and rescue service we have today. It will be illustrated with fire fighting equipment from the 17th century to the present day. There will also be a static display of fire fighting equipment and memorabilia.
The collections of vintage power on display and parading in the arenas grow in number and variety each year. They include:
– Steam power in all its glory
– Over 30 full size and miniature traction engines, steam rollers lorries and cars.
– Working steam demonstrations; threshing, sawing benches and stone crushing
– Over 300 vintage and classic cars.
– Vintage motorcycles, commercial & military vehicles.
– Vintage tractors & stationary engines.
Plus two arenas with a full programme of family entertainment including:
– Lowestoft Dog Agility Display Team
– Colchester Bird of Prey Display Team
Speedway past & present
– Heavy Horse Demonstrations
– Stage Coach Display
– Marching bands
And that’s not all – see what else is on offer:
– Heritage Theatre: A programme of live and film presentations on the heritage of the region. (Full details will be provided later.)
– Kids corner including: Cycle Rodeo, great fun for all ages, Andy the Clown, Punch & Judy etc.
Model exhibition with miniature train rides & model aircraft flying displays
– Two craft marquees plus working rural crafts
– Band stand presenting live music from the Royal British Legion Leiston Band (Saturday) and Ipswich Hospital Band (Sunday). The popular Lowestoft Signing Choir will be performing before the bands and during intervals.
– Helicopter flights (weather permitting)
– Vintage fairground
– Hundreds of trade & craft stalls plus food stalls and licensed bar.
There’s no getting away from it, the Henham rally is a great day out for the whole family and the best value around!

Caravans: £38.00 for the weekend (Fri-Mon) including 2 rally passes.
Extra weekend passes for caravanners available: £12.00 each
