Families are invited to Discover Nature at the annual RSPB Minsmere family days, which take place every Thursday during the school summer holidays.

RSPB spokesman Ian Barthorpe said: “Minsmere is the perfect place to discover nature on any visit, but on our popular family days we make it just a little bit easier. There will be a selection of guided and self-guided activities to help families to discover some of Minsmere’s hidden wildlife.


“Activities will include old favourites such as pond dipping, owl pellet dissection and a bird ringing demonstration, alongside exciting new hands-on activities like den building. We’ll also have guides available to help you to spot some of Minsmere’s wetland birds.”

The Discover Nature at Minsmere family days will be held every Thursday from 28 July to 1 September, from 10 am to 4 pm. All activities are free, although normal reserve entry fees apply. No advance booking is required. For further details, please call 01728 648281.

Ian Barthorpe added: “These family days are an excellent opportunity to trial and fine tune some of the activities that are planned through our lottery-funded Minsmere Discover Nature Project. This project will include the creation of a new education centre and family discovery zone and an upgrade of many visitor facilities.”
