Give nature a home where you live

Therese Coffey will be paying a visit to a nature reserve on the Suffolk Coast to see how local conservationists and schools are offering wildlife a helping hand.

She will be visiting RSPB Minsmere on the Suffolk Coast where school children from Wenhaston Primary School will be learning about how they can make a difference to their local wildlife.

Ben McFarland, Suffolk Area Manager for the RSPB said: “It’s great that Therese has made time to visit Minsmere and shown her commitment to the importance of teaching children about wildlife and the outdoors. Therese understands how important conserving the amazing wildlife here on the Suffolk coast is and how we can all help to give nature a home’!”

Therese commented, in anticipation of her visit: “I am delighted to be able to join Wenhaston Primary School pupils on their visit to Minsmere.  It is important we teach our children about the importance of conserving habitat and inspire the next generation to give nature a home so they can continue to enjoy the beautiful surroundings in our part of the world.”

RSPB Minsmere lies on the Suffolk Coast and is home to some of the region’s rarest wildlife, from booming bitterns and otters in the reedbeds to silver-studded blue butterflies and nightjars on the heaths. Therese’s visit will highlight how important it is to inspire future generations about wildlife and how everyone can do something to help.
