A selection of engaging speakers chaired by the Director of the Sainsbury Centre Paul Greenhalgh will respond to the exhibition Abstraction and the Art of John Golding, on show at the Sainsbury Centre until 27 September 2015.

The discussion will explore the dynamic history and current state of abstract painting and sculpture with reference to artists and artworks in the opening section of the exhibition. It will also engage with the profound impact of John Golding in the 1960s through to the 1980s as both abstract painter and art historian.

John Onians, Emeritus Professor at UEA and leading academic on world art, architecture and neuroarthistory will be joined by Royal Academician John Carter, acclaimed abstract sculptor and subject of a major upcoming monograph.

Brian Clarke, celebrated designer of stained glass, painter, sculptor and Visiting Professor of Architectural Art at University College London, will also contribute to this evening of varied conversation, which will then open to the audience for questions.
