Anita invites you to share an afternoon of her favourite stories and most loved songs from her celebrated fifty year career that took her from Las Vegas to the London Palladium, Top of the Pops to CATS. Join Anita on Sunday 14th June at 3pm, doors open at 2.30pm at Beccles Public Hall.
Anita will be accompanied by her pianist, Peter Gill.
Anita Harris has had a breathtaking career spanning over fifty years which started when, as a 15 year old, she was spotted on a London ice rink. She was then whisked away to Las Vegas to appear, three times a night, in a top revue. Returning to the UK she went on to work with The Cliff Adams Singers, appear in two Carry On films, grace the top of the pops charts, become a pantomime legend as Peter Pan, star in CATS in the West End for two years and feature in seven Royal Command Performances. She has never stopped performing and has worked alongside legendary names in the world of entertainments such as Harry Secombe, Phil Silvers, Morecambe and Wise, Tommy Cooper, magician David Nixon, Sid James, Kenneth Williams and Clive Dunn.
An Afternoon with Anita Harris is a wonderful cocktail of song, glitz, chat and humour. With musical accompaniment from her pianist, Peter Gill, Anita reveals wonderful anecdotes from her life in show business, the people she has met and the places she has been. She performs songs that have made her into one of the country’s best loved stars including Memory, Just Loving You, All That Jazz and Route 66 amongst many others.
