Aylsham Foodie Quiz attracts over 80 contestants

From celebrity to history, the silver screen to tasting, Slow Food Aylsham’s ‘foodie’ quiz on 11th May 2013 had questions on a wide range of subjects, but all with some connection to food or drink.  Quizmaster Roger Willis’ brain had been working overtime to include posers on subjects like weather forecaster Michael Fish, film star Halle Berry and former Dr Who Tom Baker while wife Jill had devised a fiendish round featuring ten ingredients which had to be identified by taste, smell or feel.

Over 80 quizzers sat down to what was generally acclaimed to have been a very enjoyable evening of fun, which also featured a supper prepared and served by Slow Food Aylsham members and including a selection of pork pies from local butcher G F White.

The winning team of six people each received a basket containing apple juice from Aylsham Farmers’ Market, cheeses from local delicatessen Gusto and cheese biscuits from the weekly cooperative Aylsham Country Market.  Proceeds from the evening will help to fund the Aylsham Food Festival, which this will run from 4th to 6th October and is organised by Slow Food Aylsham.

Slow Food Aylsham is a membership organisation, part of the international Slow Food movement.
