The programme is a tasty mixture of sacred and secular pieces, performed by the Choral Society and their guests, the local Tenor star Nick Allen and The Sir John Leman High School Gospel Choir.

Nick will sing solo items and join with the choir in a number of pieces including ‘Santa Lucia’, ‘O Holy Night’ and Argentinian composer Ariel Ramirez’s ‘Navided Nuestra’. Translated as ‘our nativity’, and sung in English, ‘Navided Nuestra’ is a gorgeous Latin American celebration of The Nativity in five short movements. It is accompanied by guitar and percussion in some of the movements and sung ‘a cappela’ in others, and combines text with some indigenous Latin rhythms.

The programme also includes carols by John Rutter, some audience participation carols and humourous readings. Christmas fancy dress and hats are encouraged!
