Beccles Festival Jazz Weekend 2014
Beccles Festival 2014 draws to a close on a high this year with its Jazz Weekend, 19th – 21st September 2014
Waveney House Hotel, Beccles 7.30pm
Combining the best of local, national and international talent, Friday 19th sees local trumpeter Ray Simmons and clarinet virtuoso Ray Hockett from the US present their eclectic overview of jazz,’ From Blues to Bebop’, while on Saturday 20th East Anglia’s hottest Dixieland jazz band, Dixiemix, takes Beccles by storm.
The climax of the weekend arrives on Sunday 21st when Tina May, who is generally acknowledged as one of the UK’s finest jazz singers, delivers her thrilling interpretation of Edith Piaf songs, supported by her fine, all-girl band.
