Skyliners-Beccles Big Band Dance Night

Big Band Dance Night with Skyliner at Public Hall

Excitement levels are rising amongst lovers of the 40s dance music scene as Beccles Public Hall gets set to welcome the boys from SKYLINER – “it’s a truly 1940s experience as the 9-piece band members are clad in historically correct 8th Army USAAF enlisted men’s uniforms” said band member, Alan Collier.

Get your tickets good and early for this hot dance event on Saturday 28th February also featuring DJ AV8, Andy Garner.

Big Band Dance Night

SKYLINER members are very proud to be the resident band of the 95th Bomb Group at Horham which in their own words, “has become their second home”.

Enlisted men’s uniforms were worn by all United States Army Air Force bands, including Glenn Miller’s AAF band, rather than the officer’s uniforms frequently worn by bands today. Replicas of stands used by Glenn Miller, bearing the SHAEF logo (Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Expeditionary Forces) complete the look of SKYLINER!

SKYLINER’S specialist repertoire is unique and unrivalled. They research the 1940s dance scene to find out what present day Swing, Balboa and Lindy dancers like to dance to. They then scour the world to obtain rare and long-out-of print music that emulates the sound of the original recordings played by DJs. They only play from vintage arrangements or transcriptions, rather than modern day interpretations.  Their nine-piece band also comprises male and female singers so you are in for a real treat!

Tickets are £12 for this special 40s US vintage music and dress dance night from 8pm ’till Midnight on Saturday 28th February. Get on those dancing shoes!

Purchase your tickets on-line at  www.becclespublichall.com; or visit the Box Office from Monday to Saturday, 10am to 3pm.
