Half term is the time to break free of the classroom and explore the outdoor world, which is why a visit to Pensthorpe Nature Reserve’s educational ‘Cosy Chicks’ event is the perfect way to discover nature and find out more about the birds and wildlife that live around us.

From Saturday 19th to Sunday 27th February 2011 between 10am to 4pm, Cosy Chicks will invite ‘big chicks’ over 6 years and ‘little chicks’ 6 years and under to take part in a selection of eight hands-on activities around the Reserve.

Whether identifying and feeding birds, examining real bird nests, making your own giant nest or matching imitation bird eggs to the bird that laid them, the event is a chance for children to be inspired by the natural world.

There will also be regular interactive activities such as pond dipping, following the Wildlife Tracker Trail and becoming a bug detective on the Bug Walk. Plus the Wensum Discovery Tour which takes visitors across hidden areas of the Reserve is perfect for little adventurers!

The Wensum Discovery Tours are charged at £5.50 or £13.50 with combined entry to the reserve.
