The Bungay Film Club’s next film is IN THE HOUSE (15) on Monday 25 November.  A clever psychological comedy about teaching and obsession from Francois Ozon, the director of POTICHE.  Starring Kristin Scott-Thomas and Fabrice Luchini, the film is a sly, stylish blend of melodrama and suspense.

British acting talent is to the fore at the beginning of the month with Daniel Day-Lewis’ Oscar winning performance in Stephen Spielberg’s

LINCOLN (12A) screening this Friday, 1 November. 

Helen Mirren and Anthony Hopkins lead an impressive cast in

HITCHCOCK (12A) on Monday 4 November.  The film centres on the relationship between celebrated director Alfred Hitchcock and his wife Alma Reville during the making of PSYCHO.

Next comes the latest adaptation of Dickens’ classic

GREAT EXPECTATIONS (12A) on Monday 11 November.  The film features a great British cast, including  Ralph Fiennes, Robbie Coltrane, and – in the role she was born to play – Helena Bonham Carter as Miss Havisham.

Last, a return to real life – Hollywood style – with

BEHIND THE CANDELABRA (15) on Saturday 23 November.  The film portrays the affair between flamboyant pianist Liberace and his younger lover Scott Thorson.  Based on a memoir by Thorson, with impressive star turns from Michael Douglas and Matt Damon.
